Catherine Barrios graduated from Santa Fe College and received an Associate of Arts degree in Political Science with Highest Honors and an International Studies Certificate. She transferred to Florida State University in pursuit of a dual degree in International Affairs and Political Science with a minor in Chinese. During her studies at Santa Fe College she worked at the University of Florida's Bureau of Economic and Business Research Center. Catherine plans to combine her healthcare background, international education experience and future graduate work to address global concerns. She also aspires to continue her involvement in politics and in improving her community.

 

Born and raised in California, Guatemala and Florida, Catherine has experienced what life is like in major international centers and enjoyed encounters with people with different backgrounds. When she is not reading up on international events, striving to become a hyperpolyglot, or planning her next trip abroad, Catherine is painting, playing jazzy tunes on her sax and spending quality time with her family and cat, Misty.
